Alcuin couldn't deny that he felt some anxiety upon getting a phone call from Agent Hotchner, asking if he would come to the FBI offices.

"Have a seat," Hotch said calmly. He waited until Alcuin was in the chair before he found a folder and opened a file.

"We have a missing person's report and the name came up flagged as one on the list you gave me," he said, showing a casual photo of the politician.

Alcuin looked at the picture, then up at Hotch. "Edward Pascal?"

He paused, and then stated the obvious. "That's the second time that's happened. A missing person from that list."

"Yes. He and Petrovich. We're looking into the possibility that this may be a systematic elimination of men of power in the city," Hotch said. He had no issue with telling Alcuin. It wasn't a secret what they were investigating.

"Do you know of anyone who might want these men gone?"

Alcuin knew how much damage he was doing, by letting the FBI think that the murders were related. Whoever had killed Petrovich... that, Alcuin knew nothing about. But he did know that it had nothing to do with Pascal. And also he knew that Pascal was dead.

"I don't know of anything that ties them together," he said. "You don't think it has anything to do with Anafiel's death do you?"
