Pairing: Skandar/Georgie & Will/Anna
Rating: PG
Summary: Sequel to More Than Anyone

Came across this story I never finished.  I'm pretty sure no one is even here anymore, but I figured 15 years, 5 months and 30 days was enough waiting to finish this story.  Enjoy Chapter 10.  Other Chapters are forthcoming :)

Skandar paced the hallway outside of Georgie's room, waiting for the doctor to finish his examiniation.  Georgie was awake.  The heaviness that had been weighing down on his chest the last three weeks had disspated when he had looked into her eyes.  And then it immediately returned.  She doesn't remember me, Skandar thought.  He wanted to throw up.  She doesn't remember me, he thought again.

"Skandar."  The sound of Anna's voice pulled him from his thoughts.  He turned his head to see Anna, Will and Colin looking at him with great concern.

"Let's just wait and see what the doctor says when he comes out.  Perhaps its only temporary," Will said as reassuringly as he could.  Georgie didn't remember him either.  She didn't remember Anna or Colin or the fact that they had worked on a movie together.  Georgie was able to remember her parents and sister.  They were who she asked for when she woke up.

"I don't know what I'll do if it's not," Skandar said.

Anna stepped forward and grabbed Skandar's hand.  "We will get through this.  And let's be grateful for the Christmas miracle of her waking up.  We should focus on the positive right now."

"Mom, Dad, does Aunt Georgie really not remember us?" Colin asked.  He didn't care that his Christmas morning was being spent in a hospital.  He just wanted his Aunt to be okay and for his Uncle and parents to stop looking so sad.

Will knelt down in front of his son.  "She doesn't.   At least not right now.  Sometimes when people have head injuries it can cause their memories to change or go away.  It's not always permanent which is why we need to wait for the doctor."

Releasing Skandar's hand, Anna went to her son, kneeling next to her husband.  "I'm sorry this is how your Christmas morning is going, darling."

Colin shrugged.  "It doesn't matter.  I just want everyone to be okay."

Will and Anna hugged their son tightly and released him, watching as he went to his uncle.  "I'm really sorry Uncle Skandar."

"We will get through this, just like your mom said," replied Skandar, placing a hand on top of his godson's head.  "Try not to worry yourself."

"Mr. Keynes," came the doctor's voice from behind him.  Skandar turned and any hope he had was gone when he looked at the doctor's face."

"Tell me," was all Skandar could say.

"We have reviewed Ms. Henley's scans and while her injuries are healing, we are unable to determine whether or not her memory loss is permanent, especially since the memories she seems to have lost are focused on her relationships with all of you.  Ms. Henley knows she's an actress and a student.  She knows she's on winter break from university.  She remembers her parents and sister.  For whatever reason, while she admits there is some familiarity there, she doesn't remember all of you and we can't completely understand why," explained the doctor.

Anna choked back tears.  "So what do we do?  Just forget she was a part of our lives?"

Colin wrapped his arms around his mother's waist to comfort her.

"No, but you may have to rebuild your relationships with her and you may even be able to help her remember.  Sometimes in cases such as this, talking about the memories triggers something and it all comes back.  I would start there as much as you can.  She will still be here for a few days so if she is up for it, talk to her about some of your memories with her, bring in pictures, whatever you can."

"Can we see her now?" asked Will.

"Yes.  I'll be back around shortly to speak with her parents and sister."

Skandar didn't say anything.  He didn't even realize the doctor had walked off.  He was broken out of his silence by a hand on his shoulder.  "Skandar," Will said.  "Let's go in and see Georgie now."

"I think...I think I need a minute.  You guys go in first.  I'll be there in a moment."

"Skandar..."

"I just need a minute."

Will wanted to persist further, but felt Anna grab his hand so he just nodded in understanding.  Turning, he followed Anna and Colin into Georgie's hospital room.

-----------------------------

Georgie watched as a young couple and a child walked into her room.  She recognized them from earlier when she had first woken up in the hospital.  They had hugged her and cried tears of joy that she was awake, but she had no idea who they were.  Georgie wanted to remember because they seemed to love her so, but she just couldn't.

"Hello Georgie," said the young woman.

"Hello," replied Georgie, trying to smile.

"How are you feeling?" asked the young man.

"Okay I think.  I do have a headache, but other than that I feel...fine," Georgie answered.

There was an awkward silence until Colin spoke up.  "You really don't remember me Aunt Georgie?"

"Colin!" Will admonished.

Georgie smiled at the little boy in front of her.  "I'm afraid not, but if you say I'm your Aunt, then it must be true.  You don't strike me as someone who would tell a lie.  Especially on Christmas."

Colin smiled.

"I guess we should have introduced ourselves.  I'm Will and this is my wife, Anna.  And our son Colin."

Georgie nodded.  "I'm sorry I don't remember you.  I mean, I feel as if I know you so that tells me something..."

Anna moved to the chair beside Georgie's bed.  "You have nothing to be sorry for.  The accident is what caused all this.  Even though you don't remember us, we will still be here for you."

"That's very kind.  Thank you, An...Anna."

Giving a reassuring smile, Anna looked to her husband and son.  She wasn't exactly sure what else to say or do.  Thankfully, the room door opening saved her.

Skandar entered the room.  The silence immediatly felt strange.  He put his hands in his pockets after closing the door.  He looked to Will, then Anna, then his eyes met Georgie's.  Those beautiful eyes that no longer recognized him.

"Um..hello, Georgie."

"Hello."

"Anna, I think it's best we go out in the waiting room and wait for the Henleys."

Anna nodded.  She stood from the chair beside the bed.  As she passed Skandar, she grabbed his hand for a quick moment and squeezed it reassuringly.  He tried to give her a smile, but couldn't.  Anna followed Will and Colin out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Skandar turned his head back to the love of his life who was looking at him with much curiosity.  "How are you feeling?"

"Just a headache honestly."

"Can I get you anything?"

Georgie shook her head no.  "Can you tell me your name, again, please?  I know you told me when I first woke up.  I'm sorry I can't remember."

He swallowed the lump in his throat.  "Skandar."

"Skandar," Georgie repeated.  She brought her fingers to her lips when she said the name.  It was a strange feeling.  It felt right coming out of her mouth.

"Do you mind if I sit by you?" Skandar asked.

"Alright."

Skandar sat, and wiped his hands up and down on his legs.  He was nervous.  He didn't know what to do or say.  This is not how he imagined things would go when Georgie woke up.  This was not how he imagined their first Christmas together.

"Do you know who gave this bracelet?" asked Georgie.  She held up her wrist, moving it around.  The light coming through the hospital window almost made it look like they were dancing.  It was beautiful.  She did remember how much she loved fairies.

Clearing his throat, Skandar answered.  "Yes, it's from Colin.  He brought it here last night.  It's your Christmas present.  He saved up his money and bought it all by himself.  You're his favorite Aunt you know."

"I do love fairies," Georgie whispered.

Skandar smiled.  "I know."

"I've always wanted to go to Kensington Gardens.  All my life, I've never been there."

Skandar frowned.  Yes, you have, he thought.  "It is a really beautiful place."

"The doctor told me that you were in the car with me when the accident happened."

"I was."

"Where were we going?"

"To Will and Anna's."

"They seem like very lovely people."

"They are.  I love them very much."

Georgie tilted her head and looked at Skandar.  "I think I do, too.  I just can't remember them.  Or you.  Do we spend a lot of time together?"

Skandar put his head down, not really sure how to answer that question in the current circumstances, but he didn't want to lie either so he didn't.  "Yes, we do."

"I'm...I'm sorry I can't remember anything.  I've been trying.  I feel very comfortable around all of you."

Reaching to put his hand over hers, "You have nothing to be sorry for, Georgie.  We should have just stayed home that night.  It's my fault this happened and I'll live with that for the rest of my life."

His touch made Georgie feel warm all over.  "Home," she whispered.  Georgie looked at their hands, then her gaze moved to the ring on her right ring finger and a sudden realization dawned on her.

"We're married?!" she squealed, then covered her mouth quickly as if she had said something horrible.

Skandar chuckled a little.  "Not quite.  We became engaged the night of the accident.  I had also asked you to move in with me."

"Oh.  I...well, I don't know what to say exactly."

"You don't have to say anything.  We just need to get you well and take everything one day at a time.  There is no pressure for you to do or to accept anything."

Georgie folded her hands in her lap.  "Thank you."

Before Skandar and Georgie could talk anymore, the room door swung open.  Mr. and Mrs. Henley and Rachel came into the room.  They hugged Skandar, then their attention was focused on Georgie.

"Oh thank God.  Georgie!  My Georgie girl!" Mrs. Henley cried wrapping her arms around her daughter.

In the midst of the chaos, Skandar stepped out of the room to give the Henleys some time with Georgie.  He found Will, Anna and Colin still in the waiting room.

"You should have gone home.  You didn't have to wait," Skandar said.

"We wanted to make sure you were alright," Will replied.

"How did it go?" asked Anna.

Skandar shrugged.  "I don't know.  Georgie knows what our relationship status was the night of the accident now.  She freaked out a bit but I told her there was not pressure from anyone for her to do or accept anything she wasn't ready to."

"What are you going to do now?"

"I don't know," said Skandar, "I am going to go out for awhile and give the Henleys some time with her."

"How about Christmas breakfast with us, Uncle Skandar?"

Skandar smiled at his nephew's attempt to make him feel better.  "I'm not sure I'm hungry, Col."

"You have to eat. And you can't be alone on Christmas, Uncle Skandar.  You have to come to our house for Christmas breakfast and then we will all come back to see Aunt Georgie."

Seeing the immense amount of hope in Colin's eyes, Skandar reluctantly agreed.  "Alright, I suppose Christmas breakfast at the Moseley's it is."
