A sketchy bar on the mainland, Tuesday evening

Honestly, Bruce had spent a lot of free nights in this bar and others like it. Usually he was alone, maybe wearing a simple disguise, and just observing. This way he could get a feel for what kind of people came to places like this for reasons less anthropological than his. Kate wrinked her nose in distaste and shook her head. "I have a problem with being around so much plaid." If she thought she could've got away with saying she was allergic, she would have.

"I'll take this, where I can wear whatever the hell I like."

Well, minus the sword, which didn't tend to go down well anywhere outside of her own universe... Sad.

Well, she might not be too out of place in Gotham with a sword. Although that would usually suggest 'villain.' Maybe 'antihero' if she was lucky.

"Why am I not shocked that you're not a fan of the uniforms?" Bruce asked, showing a slight smirk. "The boys' uniforms could be worse, at least. I'm just glad we don't have to wear shorts with the suits or anything." That was almost certainly because of the kind of uniforms he had to wear as a youth in prep school.

People didn't exactly look at her and think 'hero' back home. She was more likely to be skirted around on the pavement.

"I know. And that's the last kind of scandal we need right now," Beuce joked. "More importantly, suit plus shorts is a look I outgrew when I was five."
