"That's not going to change anything, unfortunately," Bruce responded. He couldn't help but smile a little, though.

"But I could make you feel very bad about leaving," Rilla said.

"But you wouldn't want to do that, right?" Bruce asked.

Ben poked his head into the room. "Hey. Ender said you were leaving."

"Hey, Ben," Bruce said. "Yeah. My shuttle to the airport should be at the causeway soon, so it's just about time."

"Where are you headed?" Ben asked. "Straight home?"

"A month-long detour in New York first. Then finally back to Gotham. That town's waited this long for me to come home from school, another few weeks won't hurt it," Bruce said.
