"Why don't you look like Christian Bale?" Kara demanded, rubbing her ring as she sat on Bruce's bed.

Don't ask how she got in. Just...don't.

"I don't have the right genes for it," Bruce said, putting the book down. "Can I help you with something?"

It was the polite way of asking what the hell she was doing in his room.

"Well, I don't suppose you can really fix the whole genes thing," Kara grumbled. "What's good from room service?"

"Quinn," Bruce said, more surprised than he was by Kara for some reason. "Apparently today's a day where people just appear in my hotel room. Unless you happened to break in." Somehow he doubted that.

Probably because he'd dated women who broke and entered for a living, and they usually weren't confused about how they ended up someplace.

"That's exactly what I'm studying at Yale," Quinn said. "Breaking and entering 101."

She sat on the bed, hands primly folded in her lap. "No, I was visiting my idiot friends in New York, and I got on the train, and then I was here. In your hotel room."

She sounded surprised, still, but not precisely broken up by the fact.
