Sounds like you care about them, a lot. That makes you a pretty decent mom in my books. More than a lot of people can say.

Oh, okay. Well, that's a little different, then. Still a shi... er, a crappy thing to say.

Yeah, there's plenty more to it than love. But I don't think you can really be classified as a failure, if you love them. It's kind of the most important bit, and the rest should all come from that.

I mean, I guess maybe if you deliberately turned your daughter into that, or hurt your son, that would count, too. But it doesn't sound like that's what you were aiming for.
