Ever since we first received a shipment of them, I've been trying to figure out the point of those shaped rubber bands that are all the rage with the kids here. I think I've basically come up with the best explanation I'm ever going to get, and that is:

They're the pogs of a new generation.

It's kind of awkward when I run into somebody that I apparently went to school with, and they recognize me but I have no idea who they are.

So, it looks like Sony decided to release the Thrii a little earlier than I last heard. Fine with me. Hopefully it means I only have to listen to that jackass in their "future of gaming" trailer for one month instead of three.

It should not be hard to convert Sega's old VRC rating system to the current ESRB system. I mean, you have GA, MA-13 and MA-17. It seems to me that it should be clear that they're analogous to today's E/E10, T, and M, respectively ( Read more... )

I wound up playing Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (Genesis version) again recently. I once again asked myself why I was ever into Mortal Kombat as heavily as I was back then.

Somehow, the special effects seem even more underwhelming than they did when it was new, and I remember finding them pretty laughable at the time.
