The temperature difference is probably because my microwave oven is old or weak (I wouldn't trust it to be the temperature it says it actually is, lol) but I dunno what's up with the water amount and cookie size ^^; I guess for every recipe you have to try it out yourself at least once to find out what works best for you!
I feel like people with high level kneading skills can get dough consistency with less water. I was making noodles with a potter and the recipe called for really little water compared to the amount of flour. I cheated and added more water cuz it just wouldn't form, but he had no problem. If there's more water, you'll naturally need to cook it for longer or on higher heat! If your kneading skills are good though, maybe it's just the climate that's too different?

sometimes the instructions aren't very specific and it depends on the utensils u have, but u did it and thats what matters (ˊ˘ˋ*)
