Marriage equality passed the NY state Assembly.

The quotes from members who changed their no votes to yeses made me cry.  We are going to win this.  Maybe not in NY this year, but we are going to win.

The Senate is where it'll fall apart. It's happened before.

Like you, I'm a native New Yawka and so want this to happen in my home state. I am so disgusted with Merlin's wimpiness (and from a state that has an ERA and apparently hasn't read the Loving v. VA decision), I could puke, and I am a lot happier with my adopted state, Vermont!
But ferchrissake- IOWA??!!!! - How freaking amazing is that (I know, old news, but c'mon people....)From what I can see from the news stories, it's still viable and opposition is slow and underfunded (let us hope!). And now it looks like Maine is getting there - unless something has changed in recent days, I don't know!
