Hmm, so my last post was sent out in a drunken stupor without any forethought or attempts at being PC. I think my frustration bears more explanation that potshots at skinny, younger gay guys ( Read more... )

Yeah.

Be you. Stop worrying about whether you fit in. It's like you're worried you're not gay enough. Once you figure out who you are, you'll find other people like you.

Do the dgala thing if you want to. But don't do it if you don't.

I think you're expecting more from people who throughly enjoy the club scene and use it in order to pick up someone. Even as a girl looking for a straight guy I would not expect to find any romntic/engaging connections at a dance club. All anyone is doing there is looking for a piece of ass... So don't feel too bad that it's not working out for you there, it doesn't work out for anyone! Good luck with everything though :-/.

I agree with little miss lovely upstairs. I've almost never gone to a club and enjoyed myself; you might actually be more into the down to earth gay bar scene. They exist, and it's a fun place to just chat.
As for DGALA, you definitely shouldn't do it to for yourself to be more comfortable with yourself. But if you think you can do it (I'm guessing it has less to do with "gayness" and more with an ability to manage logistics) and more importantly, you'd enjoy it (doing something like this for the job has it's problems I feel) and feel good about, there's nothing wrong with not being the paragon of teh gay. How many people have you heard say "I'm still learning about myself every day?"
So in essence, if you think you would enjoy it.

I never really enjoyed the club scene either. I don't think it has to do with being gay as much it has to do with enjoying that particular type of scene, but who really knows unless they've had the experience of actually being straight and then actually turning gay ( ... )
