Most of the time, Sam remained pretty convinced that Marvin was adjusting to this place a hell of a lot better than he had (or ever would). Granted, that made a lot of sense - life for a dog was probably a lot simpler than a person's, whatever similarities Sam might have found in their backgrounds - but was still of note even so. Quorra was still pretty fascinated with the beach. It wasn't like they didn't have water where she was from, but it hadn't been quite as exciting, all full of interesting fish and plants. She was wading in the water when she saw Marvin coming toward her, and then she saw Sam waving.

"Greetings, Sam Flynn and Marvin Flynn!" she said, waving back.

Heading in her direction, Sam stepped out of his sandals before crossing the rest of the distance to Quorra, Marvin letting out a yip by the shoreline. He hadn't actually planned on venturing into the water, but he also didn't much care; it sort of came with the territory of living by a beach, at least the way he saw it, to half-expect it most of the time anyway. For good company, there was no reason to even think twice about it.

"So what are you doing out here?" he asked, grin still in place as he neared her side.

"I like how the sand feels under the water. It's so squishy, and sometimes there are fish." She watched Marvin bark at a piece of seaweed and smiled. "I'm just enjoying the ocean. What are you doing?"

"Marvin and I were playing a game of fetch," Sam replied, unable to help the edge of fondness that crept into his voice, head tipping in the dog's direction. "But I think he got pretty easily distracted anyway." He glanced down at the water almost thoughtfully. Normally, it wasn't the sort of thing he'd have thought twice about, but Quorra had a tendency to put that into perspective. "It is nice, isn't it?"
