That's such a sweet idea! And I always wondered just how strong their relationship was when Will was a teen, still. I thought Norri rather protective of him, or at least a bit concerned about his fate, just like he was with lil Lizzy when she sung about pirates.

Will did what he had wanted to do then and squeezed a hand on Norrington's shoulder.
A strange gesture, I feel. Has Will ever done this before, with anyone?

Daaawww, yeah. You know, it always struck me as a peculiar lack in the movies that more screentime wasn't given to the Will/Norrington relationship. Will was so young when he was brought to Port Royale as an orphan, someone must've parented him a little. Considering how Will turned out, I don't think it was Mr Brown. Will's morals and actions are practically identical to Norrington's. He's a mini-James!

I don't think he's done it in the movies... maybe it's a bit too modern. I was thinking about the awkward "shoulder squeeze" straight guys do to each other as a build-up to the awkward one-armed back-thump hug.
