Thanks so much for the heads up! I received a flyer at the end of last Sunday's Bridge to Brisbane race, but didn't take too much notice of it. I probably wouldn't have gone if you didn't give me the link, but now I've been all over the website like a bad rash.

I've registered and I'm all excited to go to their very first New Farm parkrun tomorrow morning! It will be a gorgeous course, too - right on the river.

Yes, we really need to start these things early in Brisbane. Even in the middle of winter it doesn't take long to warm up once you get going, and if they left start times any later you'd be sweating just getting out of your car before the race!

It will be awesome to have someone to compare times etc with. I bore everyone I know to death because they're not runners and aren't really interested...

Which tri club are you interested in? I have a goal to complete a tri!

Excellent, glad to hear you can make it! How quickly to Bridge to Brisbane places go (do I need to get next year's entry in already?). Ironman Melbourne sold out in 5m05s!

At the moment I'm just looking at Redcliffe Tri on the assumption we live somewhere near nisaba's parents but there seem to be a few clubs in the area.

You should have no trouble completing a tri in a very respectable time, so what is stopping you? I have Challenge Henley this weekend which is iron distance (3.8km swim, 180km bike then a marathon) which will be a bit of a tough one.

I was very impressed with your B2B time, I actually have no idea how fast I can do 10km in - I know my 5km and my half times quite well but I haven't raced 10km since that time I did one very hungover the morning that Peta's parents returned to Australia post-wedding. I've beaten that time since in both halves of a half marathon, so I know I can do better than that!

I don't think places for the B2B are limited, they'll take as many starters as they can get! So no stress at this point, maybe wait until next year before entering.

What's stopping me for a tri is that I can't remember the last time I even swam laps at a pool, and I've never even practised the changeover from bike to running and I think it's going to be hilarious the first time I do!

The Challenge Henley sounds very tough indeed! How did you go??

What are your 5km and half times?

I was thinking of doing the Melbourne Marathon on 9 Oct, but that sold out really quickly so no go for me. Maybe next year. I believe the Noosa Tri (the big Qld one) sells out in seconds flat, too, so if you do want to do that one next year (November, I think) you should get in super early for that.
