LUCIFER

As an angel and one of the more powerful archangels, Lucifer is invulnerable and indestructible. His body can be destroyed any which way and it would reconstruct as if nothing was ever wrong with it. The only plausible issue that he may have is that as powerful as he is; he's too powerful for the body he is in (Nick) thus it's sort of rotting around him. Nick as a vessel, however, is only a temporary thing while he convinces his true vessel to say yes to him. Lucifer also has the ability to teleport just as any other angel and speculated that he would also be able to heal. Again, just as any other angel. He can also appear in someone's dream.

Something that seems specific only to a stronger level angel is that he can manipulate the weather. Because he is an angel he cannot just freely possess anyone like a demon, he has to get the vessel's consent to do so. When he does not have a vessel he can transform into anyone, when he was first introduced into the series he had taken the form of his current vessel's late wife and when he first interacted with Sam Winchester he took the form of his late girlfriend Jessica Moore. Since he can is the father of lies, Lucifer can tell when you lie. He can tell your deepest darkest secrets that you hide instead deep down and that's what he uses to sympathize with others.

Lucifer can view the true forms of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as well as bind entities to him, which is displayed when it came to how he controlled Death. He remains unaffected by time, which means he will never age. His body might though. He can also freeze objects which was seen when he froze a window. Just as it's assumed that he has the abilities of other angels, most would assume that he can manipulate reality. He can project images in a person's mind. It's also assumed that he would be able to bring back the dead, though this was never demonstrated during the series. It just seems to be a running ability that all angels have.

PERSONALITY

Lucifer is the epitome of a spoiled child who believes he was wronged by his parent.

Through Christian mythology, Lucifer was known to be one of the most loved of all angels in Heaven. One of the most powerful and most loyal to God. In Supernatural canon he was also beloved and close to his 'brothers' -- or the other angels that lived in Heaven. Particularly close to his brother, Michael. A relationship that has been noted to mirror the relationship that Dean and Sam Winchester have to some extent. Not much is quite known of Lucifer's behavior in Heaven pre-falling, it is more of one of the many angels who adored God but even more so then the others around him. Many mythologies, and Supernatural, go along with the same stem that Lucifer was the favored son of the Almighty. Unlike the other angels, or even archangel, Lucifer was not an automaton. He was not a war-machine like his elder brother, Michael. He was rather just a son who was always seeking the approval and love of his Father. Though his love was perverse in the way that he sought it only for himself. Jealously among his brothers wasn't something that was even fathomable to Lucifer because it was such a well-known fact that he was the most beloved of all (arch)angels that he did not have anything to worry about.

The problem began when God created Earth (Eden) and man. It was undoubtedly a horrendous mistake the Father had made creating something that Lucifer has only seen as flawed. Angels were perfect. Loyal, obedient, and unquestioning in the Lord's orders. Man was flawed: they questioned God, they had the capability of turning against Him when it was at the most convenient for them, and they did not love Him as much as he did. As he would continue doing. Lucifer's loyalty to God was never a thing that was questioned among the Heavenly body, but it was the one thing that separated him from his family. He just did not want to share his love with anyone else. Man was the newborn baby to an already established family dynamic and Lucifer was already self-professed attention seeking 'baby' of that family; to have God shift his focus from his loyal and loving (arch)angels to man was something that Lucifer outwardly disagreed with. Just as a spoiled child, Lucifer was opinionated and with time pre-man that opinion became something that was respected because it was something that hadn't once before questioned God but something that merely followed in the Lord's shadow. It is assumed that most angels shared Lucifer's views in many things because of he had God's favor.

It was Lucifer's first act of defiance that ended up being his most infamous, the refusal to bow to man and put such a thing on a pedestal before his Father. It was also something that Lucifer views something as a 'set-up'; for his Father knew that he only put his love and dedication to Him rather than His creations. Lucifer's act of disobedience caused Heaven to come arms against each other, ultimately creating the war that would create the rift that would decide where a human's eternal soul will lay after being released for mortality. The results of the war was less than favorable towards God's beloved son who was cast down from Heaven to reside in Hell. However, his eternity of damnation and separation from the One he loved most was not spent pondering the wrong doing in his life. Lucifer only viewed it as something that was man's fault; stealing his Father's love and putting him in the position where he had believed that his love in God was enough for him. Lucifer's own jealously was what he dealt with as he was tormented in the depths of Hell, but it was the Devil's spite that caused him to move into action for the most part.

The Bible has always referenced Lucifer as the ultimate deceiver; classic stories driving back to when Eve first plucked the apple from the Tree of Knowledge when God had warned her against eating from that Tree was all to the thanks of the Serpent -- or Lucifer. In Lucifer's eyes, it was man committing the only prophecy that he had seen from the beginning. That man did not love God as much as he had in the eons of obedience compared to the short lived obedience of man. It was the inevitable for man to be introduced to sin in such a way, as heartbreaking as it was to God.

In Supernatural canon, there's not much difference from the Bible. Only instead of being casted as the shadowy figure stage left, Lucifer has a more prominent and public role. Though he is there as the shadowy figure at times. Lucifer is the type of villain to strike an individual with their pants down so to speak. He knows your deepest darkness secrets and he comes off as the only person in the universe who can sympathize for you about them, unlike God who is not as physically present in the series as Lucifer has been portrayed as. It is very easy for Lucifer to win a person over just by sitting down with them and having a somewhat lengthy conversation with them. He is manipulative and a beautiful liar. But sometimes, it can down to confusing a character to whether or not he is telling a lie or an untold truth that no one truly wanted to acknowledge. The truth can hurt more than a lie sometimes and it is more of Lucifer's need to exploit someone's weaknesses to the point where they will side with him. But he would never come off as blatantly petty like that.

When a person is first introduced to Lucifer, he will win you over. Unlike most angels who are culturally retarded, he is someone who can relate. His more memorable interactions are when he's referencing current media or matching wits with the Winchesters. Lucifer is immersed into the world, not because it interests him. But because most of it is an extension of him, as someone in the series had said that the denizens of Hell had been more than impressed with the amount of death and sin that the world had taken to. It is very difficult to stay in the mindset that he is indeed Lucifer because he is so personable, but that could definitely end up being a person's downfall needless to say. Even though he seems as though he sympathizes for you it is as much sympathy as you would give an ant after you've stepped on it. Humans mean nothing to Lucifer except for being the bane of his existence and the reason for why he was cast down from Heaven, so there might even be a little animosity there as well.

Lucifer has shown remorse and regret, however, not to any of the actions that he has committed towards humanity. It is more directed at his brothers and those who did not choose to fight with him during the first war and even the one that is going on currently. As said before, Lucifer loves his family. His brothers and sisters mean every thing to him and he is truly the most devote person to God in the world. But he is not the most forgiving. His love is only matched by his wrath. If one is to prove themselves useless to his cause or even turn their backs to them he will not hesitate in stabbing them in the back, but he'll feel horrible afterward. There has been many a time when he has tried to convince the other angels to follow him, that his way is the right way only to be turned down. Even when he is in the act of killing them, he has remorse in his eyes. Even if he has fallen from Heaven, he still considers himself to be an angel and an extended part of the Heavenly Body even while it rejects him.
