Cheating! Everybody's Cheating!
Well, I know we are all just trying to get ahead in life (or as one friend put it, "I'm just trying to survive!"), but there sure is a lot of cheating going on these days.
SEX EVERY WEDNESDAY!
Well, first there was this poster outside a major restaurant in Sanlitun. It advertised SEX! Every Wednesday from 18:30 to 20:00!
Definitely false advertising! They were just showing Sex and the City at that time. They had set up a table in front of the poster, so you couldn't see the "and the City" part of the sign.
Maybe they didn't mean to do that, but it definitely caught my eye. Who knows how many people showed up at 18:30 on Wednesday, hoping to get some?
CHEESE + CAKE ≠ CHEESECAKE
Then there was the "cheesecake" at Starbucks. My friend ordered it, thinking it would be cheesecake. It's not like the stuff is cheap. When she got it to the table and dug into it, she found they had stuffed the cheesecake with just plain vanilla cake. The top layer (what you see in the display) is cheesecake, and the bottom layer is just white cake.
She had to surgically remove the top (real) half of the cake, and discard the cheap white cake layer. Did they think people wouldn't notice?!
HAPPILYNESS!
And then there was this gem, from one of A's students.
It's so amusing that whenever I think about it, I break out into laughter.
