I know it hurts, but you've done the right thing here. You can't change her or the rest of your blood family. Debs is your chosen family, she loves you for who you are. I'm sorry it has to be so hard. I'm proud of you for standing up for yourself.

Thanks! Standing up for myself when it comes to my family seems to be a hard thing to do, but I'm working on it. I'm surrounded by plenty of people who love me completely, so I just need to remind myself of this!

Thank you! I wish they could too, I miss how it used to be, but then again I'm not the only one in my family contributing to our dysfunction. I just have to decide where my boundaries are. Very hard to do.
