A few weeks ago when I went to the east side of the mountains to visit my friend Tammy we took a leisurely Sunday drive further south and drove through a few small towns nestled in the flats near the Manzano Mountains.   We stopped for lunch at a quaint little restaurant in the town of Mountainair, NM.  The streets were rough, the folks friendly

I've always loved Mountainair. Its a lovely setting for a town, with the broad open highlands, and with the mountains in the distance. And there's something about old railroad towns that make me happy in a bittersweet sort of way.
