Happy May to you and yours.

Very sorry to hear about your FIL and the flu.

I had signed up months ago to give the sermon in church this past Sunday. I got it done, though. And what did I choose to talk about? "Buffy and the Heroine's Journey." I got to show off my Buffy action figures in church!

Very cool!

Thanks. It's funny, when I first met my husband he told me about his family's dysfunctionality at length -- but the longer I know them, the better I like them.

Happy May to you too, my dear. It's always nice to see you. Enduring the death of loved ones is so, so hard, but it sounds like your FIL was well-loved which I think makes it a little easier to bear. I love the disdain drinking game! Cheers to him.

Did NOBODY think to take a video of your church talk? Because I'd pay money to see that. ::hugs::

Thank you! Feel free to take a little sip in his honor the next time someone says "disdain."

Sadly there is no video of the sermon, although there should be an audio recording. My husband, who was sitting in the back, said you couldn't really see any detail on the action figures anyway.

It's so good to see you here!

I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. He sounds like he was a great guy. This inevitability is one of the suckiest things about reaching a certain age.

Buffy action sermon FTW!! Fantastic!

I kept thinking of Jonathan Coulton too -- and the Occupy actions all around made me keep thinking "Now's the time for all the people to get together ... outside ..."

I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. You and your husband will be in my thoughts.

"Buffy and the Heroine's Journey."

That sounds so cool!
