I'm not sure how to describe this book. Its.... different... I suppose. As a Christian it feels a little odd to read a book in which the man who was supposed to be the Messiah is not able to fulfill his role, and so it's taken by a time traveller, who knows what's supposed to happen. The gradual eclipsing of Glogauer by the Emmanuel character is fascinating to read though. There's a more in-depth discussion of this at
catervalibre if anyone's interested, though.
