The last book in the collected Cranford Chronicles seems to have very little to do with Cranford. The story was interesting, but I didn't find myself getting into it as I did with Mr Harrison's Confessions, nor, to a lesser extent, Cranford. The section about the French Revolution was interesting, but I can't help feeling that a novel following the characters described therein, rather than a third person hindsight description would have been better.
No idea what will be the last book. Will maybe pick something up in Cornwall...
