New Book Challenge - 52/52 - Review - A Christmas Carol
I did it!
Yup - 1 New book a week has been read - and we've still two and a half months left - so will attempt to reach 60 by the end of the year - a nice round 5 new books per month on average.
Yes - despite the fact I'm currently rehearsing a stage version of this, I'd never actually read the original 'til now. I decided it might be an idea, just to get a sense of the original, as this is what the director is aiming for (and which is tricky for me as my scene's are all figments of the authors imagination). But I enjoyed reading the book, and it's certainly given me a clearer sense of the story, as well as clearing up some commonly held misconceptions (for instance that Tiny Tim actually speaks the final words, instead of the narrator repeating them...). But overall an enjoyable book.
