"I can't believe I'm actually doing this," Kevin said to Tommy.
"My younger brother is finally committing to a man," Tommy said in amazement. "Getting cold feet yet?"
"No. I want this."
"Hey, can I have a moment with the groom-to-be?" Jason requested, sticking his head in the doorway.
"Yeah, sure. Break a leg Kev."
"Thanks Tommy."
"Wow, so you're getting married," Jason said, as he sat down on the bed next to Kevin.
"Yes."
"I'm happy for you Kev. I really am."
"Thank you Jason. It's not awkward that I asked you to minister it, is it?"
"No. Not really."
"Thanks again for doing it."
"You're welcome. So, do you have any last minute questions I can answer for you?"
"No, thanks though."
"I should go check in with Scotty. I'll see you at the alter. And that sounded weird."
Kevin laughed. "I know what you mean."

"Hey Scotty, you got a moment?"
"Yeah, what's up?"
"You're a lucky man. Kevin must really love you."
"Thanks."
"Take good care of him. Better than I did."
"I will."
"Do you have any last minute questions I can answer?"
"Actually yeah. Do you know how to tie a bow tie?"
Jason laughed before heading over to fix it for him.
"There you go."
"Thank you Jason."
"Best wishes Scotty."
"Thanks."

"We are gathered here today, to join these two men as one. Cooper, may we have the rings?"
Cooper handed the couple their respective rings.
"Scotty, I used to be so afraid of commitment. And now as you stand before me, I realize that there's nothing I want more than to be fully committed to you. I already am." Kevin paused to taken in Scotty's smile.
"You are the calm in the storm that I call my family."
A ripple of laughter went through the crowd.
"But we are a family. There's no one else I'd rather share my whole life with. You mean so much to me Scotty. I promise to you, with all these people as my witness, that I will take care of you through sickness and health, for better or worse, for richer or poorer -- and I mean that, no matter what dumb things I've said to you in the past about monetary status. You are my whole world Scotty, and I love you." Kevin slipped the ring on Scotty's finger.
"We've broken up and gotten back together on so many occasions, that I know my friends think I'm crazy for standing up here with you. But Kevin, these past few months that we've been living together have shown me another side of you, me and us that I haven't known before. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this work, because I want you. I've never wanted to be with anyone but you since the day I first walked into your office. I love you so much, and I'm never leaving you." Scotty slipped the ring on to Kevin's finger.
"With the power vested in me, I know announce you married."
Kevin and Scotty kissed to the applauding of their family and friends. Then they went around the living room, hugging their guests.

"I have a speech," Nora said after forks hitting glasses caused everyone to be quiet. "Scotty, you have brought out a whole other side of my son that I have never seen. Kevin has never been as vulnerable and soft as he is with you. I am so glad to have you as my son-in-law. And Kevin, I always worried that you would never get married. I watched what your father did to you and I worried those scars would never heal. But I've watched you with Scotty, and he seems to have fixed everything that your dad did. I am so glad that you two have found each other."
Everyone raised their glasses in agreement.
"Kevin, one of my dear baby brothers. I love you so much, despite your political affiliations. You are one of the strongest people that I know. I admire you greatly. I always worried about your inability to commit and stay faithful. But when I see you with Scotty, I realize that you just had to find the right man. You two are perfect for each other. And this wedding is so much better than your first."
Curious looks were thrown at Kitty, and Scotty looked at Kevin, an eyebrow raised in amusement.
"When we were kids, Kevin and I would play wedding. Mr. McBear would officiate the wedding. But that was just pretend, and this is real. I can't believe I'm witnessing it."
"Am I allowed to give a speech?" Scotty asked suddenly.
No one objected.
"Kevin, soon after we met, we discussed fidelity. You told me that you thought it was your sexuality that prevented you from being faithful. I said it's easy if you find a reason to be faithful. I know I've found my reason to be faithful in you. I hope you've found yours."
Kevin grabbed Scotty's arm and pulled him back into his chair so he could kiss him.
"I have found my reason," Kevin said quietly, before kissing Scotty again.
"I've watched my marriage disintegrate, but I have full faith that you two can make this work."
"Kevin, I know I gave you a hard time after you broke up with my brother. I'm sorry. You really do belong with Scotty."
"To Kevin and Scotty, may you always be happy," Jason said, raising his glass of wine.
"To Kevin and Scotty!" repeated everyone.
