After informing Charlie that he was going to take off early, Jake threw on his coat and drove down to the bar. It was rare for him to take off early, but before Jake used to have a tradition of celebrating in some way once a case was solved. Lindsay's and Catherine's would be no exception.
Leaving the tie in his car, he made his way to the restaurant. When he spotted Catherine at the bar, he smiled and walked over to her.
"Trying to hide from paperwork, actually." He laughed under his breath as he sat next to her, motioning to the bartender for his usual. "Search and rescue is on hold until further notice."
"The life of a detective." she grinned before taking a long pull off her imported beer. "I honestly can say after watching them for as long as I have that us CSI's are no different.
Setting down the beer, she turned her blue eyes, full of appreciation. "I know it's your job, Jake, but when something personal happens to someone you know, it means a hell of alot more. Thanks for helping me find Lindz."
