So, um...

I think...

I think Bruce is a girl.

A-at any rate, Christmas is coming up pretty fast. And, like, I know it's not really a big deal for a lot of people--some of you might not even celibrate--but I think we should do something. All of us. It will... It'll help with morale! Especially after the dreams. And it will help us get to know ( Read more... )

Accidentally gave your pet a male name?

Maybe. Bruce can be a girl's name! Er. Now, at least.

I suppose. But how did you know she's female?

Don't make me explain it.

That explains a great deal about Bruce's behavior.

You wish to celebrate Christmas. Truly?

...Explains what about Bruce's behavior?

And yeah, I like Christmas. Who doesn't like cocoa and--oh. Oh. Well, it's not like that. It's just...

Christmas is about Santa for me.

You have met Mazikeen, have you not?

So I'll not have to trip over gaudy plastic representations of the birth of Christ, then? How relieved I am to hear it. I shall, however, be forced to put my foot down should I see an inflatable snow-globe go up in what passes for the front yard.

The jolly fat man in his unflattering fur-lined suit? Ah, yes. What's not to love?

What does Mazikeen have to do with it?

Huh? No. No, I told you, my dad doesn't... We're not very religious, the Tenbrooks. ...Unless you count Muppet Christmas specials.

Hey, man, he braves the sleet and snow for your rollerblades. Give him some respect.

What is Christmas? Another holiday from your world?

Yup. People decorate a tree, and sing songs, and give their friends and family presents. A lot of people like the holiday for the presents.

Interesting.

It all sounds rather frivolous to me. A day devoted solely to giving gifts?

Hey! It's not just about the gifts. It's more about the people. Like, it doesn't matter what you get, it's the thought that counts, and the time you spend with everyone. For some people, the holidays are the only time during the year that they see some of their family.

I think that would be nice. We could all use a little cheer around here. I don't believe we've met. I'm Hermione Granger.

Definitely. Provisions and shelter are important and all, but morale is too. Oh, I'm Willow Tenbrook. Nice to meet you.

You as well. If you need any help, I'm here. I can decorate. If that helps any.
