I'm glad you had that wonderful meeting. I'm still trying hard to balance things myself. I'm calling myself non-denominational, because I am. I find a lot in buddhism, I find a lot in paganism, and I find a lot in christianity for me. But neither of the three is the perfect match for me. Somehow over the last year, I just realized that this fact is fine. I am all three and yet not one of them at the same time. I have always been happy as a merging point and hope to help others to get along and to help themselves grow by getting past being stuck in one route. But it does get a bit uncomfortable now and then, hearing more narrow minded comments around me in either church I'm at in the instance. How do you get past it?
I find that many- if not most- people fear other beliefs, for many reasons. For some it is lack of faith in their own path and for others it is a natural extension of their mundane habit of getting higher by stepping on or putting down others. Either of these types I find it works best to have some compassion for their fear... many of us walked that way before today. And others it is like the old saying === Why try to teach a pig to sing, it only annoys the pig and wastes your time

Have you considered the idea of INTER-denominational? Rather than not being one or another... it denotes to me a blending of or practice in - many faiths.
