Thor didn't understand his brother nowadays- he figured something must have happened to make loki act so vile towards him. Of course he understood that what their father did was unforgivable and wrong but that doesn't mean that they are no longer brothers. But then again, loki always was the stubborn one. If only loki knew how much he's missed the other...
And then there was the time when his brother nearly killed him by trapping him inside the man-made cage dropping him a million feet. Why couldn't they go back to how things were, before all the lies and deceit? Sighing, thor walked tall with loki behind him- he couldn't look at the younger god because he was dissappointed. Far too dissappointed. After the guards took loki to his cell, thor uttered to them as he stayed inside with his, still in his eyes, brother, "leave us."
The ordeal was over. Now that the would-be conqueror was fettered and returned home in utter disgrace, Loki could only see the past events as the most bitter of ordeals. He had suspected all along--only a fool would not have--that he was nothing more than a pawn in a much larger, darker game, and that he'd be lucky not to be desiccated before it was done. But now that the thrill of the battle was over, the truth was obvious to him. Not just obvious, it was screaming for constant attention
( ... )
Thor always had a heart of a golden retriever- no matter how many times you would abuse him, he will bounce back and love you until the end of time. Father had warned thor ahead of time that loki would only bite the hand that was aiding him, like that of a serpent- dangerous, only knows how to harm in both actions and of that silver tongue of his. But of course, the older god immediately saw past that- that's what a good king does, have a heart and thor always had such a heart even if his love blinded him from seeing the hurt the other had caused him in the current past and present. No matter what, thor would continue to forgive his brother, end of story.
As if refraining from speaking, the god took a step forward. Stopped as if in thought and then without any further thinking, he said as he started for the other, to take off that ugly muzzle off loki, "brother, it saddens me to see this upon your face." thor hastily took it off as if it would catch into flames if kept on any longer.
If Loki did not indeed want that vile thing off, he would have jerked his head to the side, just to spite Thor. But instead, he was still and glowered at the floor. He did yank his head back as the thing was taken off, so that Thor could not accidentally touch his face. He hid his mouth his his hand, not wanting Thor to see how he had to stretch and rub his aching jaws from that confinement.
“How long will I be kept in this cage?” he asked, trying to sound bitter, but he ended up sounding merely pitiful. He was exhausted, the sudden release from the Chitauri's hold having left him empty. Free, perhaps, but empty, and finding it very difficult to focus.
