Don't look at me, bro. My cousin Cathy has been out since '83. She's been in the same relationship since '88. How many people can say the same? And she's not allowed, by Draconian laws, to marry the woman she loves and has made her life with. Assinine.

because to allow gay marriage would be admitting gay people are normal or right. that's my guess anyway.

Dan, I can't believe you weigh "groups of people getting married" on the same level as incest. You are entitled to your opinion, but I'm going to sigh at you. *sigh*

The difference would be that one is a contract made between adults regarding shared love and home. It is not one that can be maintained by many, it takes a very open mind to be able to put aside jealousy and territory and understand that a person can deeply love more than one person. Monogamy is a trained condition. You can say, I could never love any person as much or in the same way as my wife, but really, that's just because you accept your partership as it is and you haven't tried (and it's okay that you don't want to) expand it ( ... )

It's a logistical issue... ironrat June 6 2006, 05:11:21 UTC
These people are already so busy trying to regulate sex between straight people (who's having it, how much of it they're having, and how they're having it) that they simply don't have the time or resources to expand the operation to same-sex sex.

A real answer, though? That's hard...

Dan, I give you all the credit in the world for being willing to speak out logically and succinctly on what you believe in. Especially when it is different to what many of the beliefs of the group of your peers (and by peers I mean gamers) generally voice.

I don't know much about politics. But I'm something of an optimist and I tend to believe the best about people. I like to think that in the end, everything will work out for the best.

All I do know is that my aunt got married to her girlfriend of a long time last year and it was probably one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
