The other day, Sandy asked me if the many "colorful" phrases and instances of slang I use when referring to the Moving Biz are particular to the company I work with, or universally accepted in the industry. some of the slang is the same, some of it is very compass specific. Hacks and Coffining are the same down here, but here are some others ( ... )

Timeless. I hate the wealthy.

Do you guys ever put down pads in paths on the floor in situations like that? Taking off your shoes takes so much damn time... I try to brush off such concerns by telling the customer about our super-special floor protection blankets, impervious to scratches or dents, that polish the hardwood floor while we move!

Also, why the fuck would you salvage absurdly expensive planks to go on your floors? Isn't that like having a parchment toilet bowl, and getting all upset whenever anyone has to go to the bathroom?

oh yeah man we had the whole first room as a big padded staging area, but once we needed to take stuff outta there it was SOCK TIME. And for big pieces that we didnt feel like setting down and picking up again we'd just pause, kick off the shoes, an keep goin. it sucked terribly.
