1,347 days.
2,882 American lives.
46,137 non-fatal American casualites.
At least 48,775 Iraqi civilian deaths confirmed (with many, many more unconfirmed).
$300+ billion in taxpayer funds, and still spending.

There's an interesting lawn sign here in Arlington. It's basically 4 sheets of paper, each with a digit, mounted on some paper or plastic frame, that just has "2882" or whatever the number of fatalities is.

No other text as far as I can see. About the size of a political campaign sign... 3' by 1.5'?

Just this unassuming sign.

I think it's a good sign. I kinda wish there were more of them.

Yup. There's a protestant church in Mansfield, CT that has a big sign on their front lawn, keeping running tallies for all to see...US dead, US wounded, Iraqi civilians and soldiers dead....I'm not a christian, but this church has my support.

Of course, the equally huge travesty is how many people are killed from other means such as traffic accidents, diseases and murder while we squander our resources in Iraq. W the War Criminal has effectively gotten this country so distracted by his little war that we're ignoring huge issues right here at home, or at least not allocating sufficient resources to them. 2008 cannot come soon enough.
