Stumbling on Happiness by Daniel Gilbert. He talks about stuff like this. It's not about politics; it's a general thing. The book is both hilarious and really eye-opening.

As long as I'm recommending books, I'll also recommend The Tipping Point and *especially* Blink, both by Malcolm Gladwell. Tipping Point could've used a better editor, but it's still good. Blink is amazing.

On the flip side - it could also mean that you won't believe the Republicans have been doing a great job the past 8 years ;)

But the proof is in the pudding, really. The Bush administration sucked and is an embarassment to this country.
