TEENAGE STUPIDITY REGARDING SEX IS AN EPIDEMIC

I feel as if I'm screaming at the top of my lungs and not making a sound. YOU ARE NOT INVINCIBLE. If you don't use condoms during sexual activity, you put yourself at risk.

1 in 3 people with HIV don't know they have it.Why? Because people are recklessly engaging in multiple, causual, unprotected ( Read more... )

"They" do advertise this on MTV.

However, nobody is suing condom manufacturers for getting AIDS/STDs in record numbers, so I don't see the parallel.

I've always wanted to be tested for STDs! :D It seems so fun and every health professional says to do it.

What's funny is a condom won't protect you from HIV, simply lower the chances of getting it (slightly). The HIV virus is small enough to travel through latex.

Knowing is beautiful

Abstinance is immaculate

That used to be true. However, not long ago, the CDC released a new report saying that newer... (models? designs?)...types, I guess, of condoms, when used correctly, effectively protect against the virus. [when i find the link, I'll repost it]

And even when that was true, 0% protection without a comdom VS 98% protection with a condom can hardly be considered "slight".

While abstinence is immaculate, it's also unrealistic to preach to today's teens.

2% is promising when compared with death.

Of course I'm not like alot of other men (and women) in that I don't desire an orgasm via parter so bad I'd be willing to risk my life.

If I were in a serious relationship, though, I would definitely consider getting tested with my parter, despite the fact that I* know I've never been sexually premiscuous with another human being (only animals). I think it's the confort the other recieves from knowing<--- Which is always beautiful. Testing seems like a cop-out for a lack of morals and honesty within society today, though. I spose it could be used to gain the trust we've lost.

And blah blah blah.

(I'm not attacking, I'm somehwhat afraid it may seem that way, but I'm not. Simply conversing.)
