Stage Crew Group of individuals who spend their evenings coping with 50-minute stretches of total boredom interspersed with 30-second bursts of mindless panic.
Oh yes. Though with mine it's often more like 14 hours of total boredom with 30 second bursts of panic because, wee, travelling shows and school organization variety shows! *headdesks*
That's one of my "I'm never going to use my degree because OMG this job would be so cool!!" job plans. ;)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. It is and it isn't. The travel is exhausting. The work is so much fun. After about six months you've either slept with everyone or are sick of them all. :)
You sound like a perfect angel. I think I've even worked with you before--or a child or three who took notes from you. :P That all sounds like such a blast. Do you miss it? Especially the screaming? *g*
Ahahahaha, yes! So true! :D The Hindbrain is my favourite. If this were my list, I'd add "and criticising the actor's performance", which is one of the most common singer afflictions. :)
I forgot about that -- or blocked it out -- from my personal experience performing in and after college.
Actors, though, usually end up walking off stage only to seek out blunt objects to whack themselves with for missing a cue, line, or for screwing up the general emotion of a scene.
Don't you hate working with a bunch of drama queens? :P
It's the best form of entertainment ever. Far better than live theatre--because it's live life. And when they curl up in my lap, I get to rock them back to sanity. Fun. :)
*HR waves* Hello, I got here by way of a friend's post. My friend in college gave me this list(I was a theater/English major) It was true then, and true now. LOL...Thanks for sharing it.
You are so very welcome! I cherish all jokes that poke fun at the intensity and drama of theatre. Keeps me sane during those long, hellish tech nights. :D

The crew must bring along many, many games and lose a lot of money in cards.

I actually work for the theatre complex at Texas A&M University, so people come to us. But yes, we play a LOT of poker and video games. :D
