From this prompt,
here.Set after 'The Blizzard of LA'
Never thought that the blizzard would end and what was up with that? Since when did it snow in LA. I had tried to call Buffy number of times while I was stuck in the comic book shop with Angel and that Seth tot, who by the way is a soddin’ trip. Not too bad, although mostly annoyin’. When the blizzard finally cleared up, me and Ang’ dug us out of the snow and we went our separate ways, him headin’ probably home and me, obviously headin’ home. When I got there, no one was there and I brought out the cell phone, but still there was no service. Stupid phones. Never workin’ when you need ‘em to.
An hour passed and I felt her comin’ up the walk. Takin’ a sip of my hot cocoa, I waited while I sat on the couch. Felt like it’s been years since I’ve seen her, we have both been quite busy, her with her detective work and me with getting my arse kicked day in and day out by teeny bopper slayers all strivin’ to be the actual ‘one.’ There was already an actual one and she was walkin’ in the house at the mo’.
“Hey, love,” I said and got up quickly. She looked so cold. Didn’t think she was used to this kind of weather, didn’t think anyone livin’ in LA was used to it. Lucky for me, it didn’t rightly matter, but her … her cheeks were red and everything else was pale.
“Quite the weather we’re havin’,” I grinned softly before walkin’ over to the kitchen and heatin’ up some water to make her the hot cocoa that her mum used to make for her and me those few times that she made it when I was there.
“I was out patrollin’ with tall, dark and forehead when the snow came fallin’ down. I was stuck in some shop with him and this other twit, Seth. Where have you been?” I asked and then brought out a hot mug for her.
(open to the lady love!)
