I have alot of free time on my hands since the third store opened. I end up being here by myself for most of the day, and since this is an outdoor shopping area, in the middle of winter, it gets pretty slow. So I figured I'd kill some time with an update.
I recently got my tax money back, 1,400 bucks, which I certainly can't complain about. I saved most of it, but I did buy some games and anime and cds, oh, and a beastly CD case, which some of you may remember being talked about before :P. I got three CDs, which arrived yesterday. I had to order them from Japan. Two of the Samurai Champloo soundtracks and one album by a DJ called Nomak, which I found when I was looking up all the Nujabes and Fat Jon stuff from the Samurai Champloo soundtracks. Not cheap stuff, but really good relaxing music. I'll put a song up at the bottom. Japanese DJ's seem to really have their stuff together, I've found quite a few with just really solid instrumentals.
Oh god, the damn busker is setting up. Seriously, I don't know if you all can understand the level of irritation he causes me. He sings a verse of Waltzing Matilda is whatever the aboriginal language is called. He plays louder than a freaking Slipknot concert and he's been playing the same damn songs over the same damn MIDI backing tracks for years on end. And when it's not him, it's the other git who does the exact same thing, except sometimes HE has freaking guest singers come in. The other day, some prick from one of the stores a few doors down came in wanting to take up a collection from all the shop owners to ENCOURAGE him to keep coming back! I could have strangled him. I really could have. Have I stressed how LOUD these guys play? It becomes useless to play music in my shop, because from across the way, they drown out my speakers, which are right by me. I literally have to yell over the top of them.
It would be nice to be able to spend some time travelling. There's all these places I'd like to see and things I'd like to do, but I don't see me ever doing much more with my life than what I am right now. That gets kind of depressing sometimes. But anyway, I've only got myself to blame for that. I went driving down the street of the last place we lived on Saturday, and that always gets me kind of bummed out, because that's the only place we've lived in since I moved to Australia that I really felt like I was at home. It's up in the hills, and the views are great, and there are trees and green everywhere, and in the evening it smells freaking great. Not to mention the time when we were living there was a much better time in general. Not just for me, but for Laurence and everyone else. I feel most sorry for him when I go up there, because he's really lost alot in the last few years. I've just stagnated, and been on a steady decline. I do honestly feel like the best part of my life has already gone by. Sadly, I think alot of us feel like that. There's something totally screwed up with that.
ANYWAY, before I get too pansy about the whole affair I'm going to bail, I'll leave you with this killer Nomak track though. Take care everyone, till next time!
Andrew
