Oh, wow, this feels so true. I love how John has a run-in with his own physical vulnerability, but he knows that his emotions are still his biggest weakness. And wee!Dean saving John and then having nightmares--*heartbreak*.

Lovely and so very sad. John recognizing his mortality and the weakness and strength that comes from his sons. So glad your muse returned and had you tell this story.

Aww, very sad little look at John's perspective. You just know that the reason he didn't leave his boys behind was because they were his only life-line. Great imagery with wee!Dean and his shotgun bruise. Excellent work here.
