I still feel utterly infuriated on your behalf, when reading your timeline, that your husband took off and left when his diabetic wife had just brought home a premature infant. I want to fly to Australia solely for the purpose of punching him in the face.
You've understood your son's psychological needs, and compromised your parenting values to help him fill that need. That's a parenting win in my book. He's a very lucky boy (they both are) to have a mother who a) has the insight to catch this and b) has the ability to see her children as separate to herself and compromise for them.
You are awesome. Not that you need anyone to approve of your choices. ;-) *hugs James* Man, what a year - whew! (for you too. *more hugs*)
When my kids want to watch something that I don't necessarily like for them to watch, I watch it with them. That way I know exactly what they are hearing and seeing and we can easily talk about it and if needed I can extract the good I find and deflect some of the bad. (just thoughts)

I think you're AWESOME. You didn't lose, not really. I'm sure there will be other tings, much more in need of the big parental NO, later.

I have watched an episode with him, but there's not really a bunch of storyline to go with it. Little boy, aliens, fight fight fight.
