Ben Goldacre's Bad Science Blog, the Sun published a formula to determine
whether your dress is too low.
The given formula is 0=NP(20C+B)/75. That's supposed to a function to calculate O, the obscenity index. But, due to a typographic error, it's actually an expression which is defined to be equal to zero. Oops!
The wonderful bit is in the comments, where
one reader (correctly) observes that the function is a multiple of the amount of nipple exposure (N), and if this is zero, then the value of O is necessarily zero (which does fix the typographic issue). Following this though, is
another comment, carefully explaining that this is a function to find the value of O, and that, y'know, it's like solving for X or Y like you did in school. Sheesh.
Marvellous. And, apparently, maths is now sufficiently hard
that's it's going to be two GCSEs.
