two seconds ago, i just put up the picture there of her sucking her thumb. 2 days and she's found her thumb!

we have such happy good thoughts headed in your direction and wanted to find time to get to talk to you while we were in the hospital, but, well, you know, or you will. such good luck to you, and you are in for one of the best feelings of your life. hold tight.

You know, some day, in another time, in a whole different world, Annabel may be a mother herself (and you will be Grampa Stephen!)... I hope that you will print this out and save it, and that you will give it to her on that day, so that she knows just how much she was loved and how filled with perfect awe you were when she appeared. And she will read it, and she will understand that she is part of something so big, so all-encompassing, and so profoundly filled with joy.
