[Theta is out doing much the same thing. She's trying to distract herself from her own massively massive tl;dr of thoughts by going Christmas shopping. It needs to be done before it snows.

It occurs to her that it would be hilarious to see him fail. With the bag of decorations already in arm, it would be so easy to trip him up. Her cruel streak snakes through her mind as she considers doing something nasty.

And she abruptly puts her foot on it. It's a struggle to be a good person, but it's a struggle worth struggling for. She clears her throat and looks at him, not at all wanting to startle him by just coming up to him and reaching out.

Of course, how is she going to help? She's got a basket of her own, and her other hand is wrapped tightly around an elegant cane that is too old-fashioned to be from the hospital in Mayfield. And she's five foot one. Then again, she has an idea.]
