Job Performance!
So, I had my annual review at work yesterday. It was a very good review (so whew!), particularly considering what a challenging year 2013 was for me! He says I'm a lot harder on myself than I should be, and that I'm very well respected by my peers. Grandma A's Sweet Roll Recipe
Grandma A. called these "butterscotch" rolls, but I think it's more accurate to call them caramel rolls.- I cup scalded milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
Stir sugar and salt into the scalded milk- i/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup warm water

Ingredients- 1/4 cup butter, cubed
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 1/2 cups sliced carrots
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

The Fosters Who Would Never Leave

Just this week, I finally cleared out some fosters who had been with me for far too long.
Georgie was adopted. Yeah! She had been with me on and off since February and really deserved a forever home. I'm so happy for her!

Warning: Whinge ahead
I must admit I'm feeling a little sad and discouraged tonight. I've been single for over three years now. I'm okay with being alone, really I am. But sometimes it's tougher than other times, and I'm really feeling unwanted and unattractive right now. RIP Felix
I didn't post about this at the time, because I was honestly grieving too much.
But my fears about poor foster kitten Felix were for good reason: He tested positive for panleuk, like his siblings, and was euthanized.
RIP Felix. I'm glad that, for the last week of your life, you knew what it was like to be cuddled and loved.

Mother's Day
We lost our mother a decade ago. Most of the time, her loss is only a dull ache of memory. But there are still days when I miss her so much, so agonizingly, that it's like I just got that phone call about her death.
