It's strange the way things work out. This week I'm having to think carefully about various annoying problems at the factory. As usual with such problems, they are predominantly personality problems. In fact, I had the special privilege of getting a lecture from some dim-witted guy about ethical behaviour and my supposed lack of respect for him ( Read more... )

"Sadly, there are, instead, many people that like taking their holier-than-thou attitude to things."

You're describing yourself here pal. You sound like you've got a right chip on your shoulder. Grow the f**k up and try getting on with your parents a bit better, it might do you some good.

I get on with my parents very well. That's not the problem. My problem is how to deal with them, along with many other people, in the best possible way.

As for your suggestion that I'm "holier than thou", it's blatantly hypocritical for a person suggesting that I have a serious chip on my shoulder to be making that claim about me.

"Not to me, because my father is scared of me." - YOU get on with yourparents very well do you?

"As for your suggestion that I'm "holier than thou", it's blatantly hypocritical for a person suggesting that I have a serious chip on my shoulder to be making that claim about me."

Would you like to explain why it's hypocritical exactly? Because I'm not making a moral judgement, just a general observation about you being a very opinionated young man. Enough already, I've got sucked into web debate before and it's completely pointless being that one can not be truly represented by the way one writes alone. So long!

My father isn't scared of me physically. He is scared of me intellectually. He doesn't tend to argue in an aggressive manner with me. Instead, he tends to debate me, in a resonable manner. That, though, is completely different from how he treats other people. With them, he tends to merely shout at them.

You called me "holier than thou", after which you wrote that I needed to "grow up", or something. I might have taken the wrong impression from your writing, in which case I apologise for suggesting you are a hypocrite. However, my impression was that you are.

Finally, I don't mind reading messages and responding to them. I'm not particularly vindictive, or agressive, although I am quite opinionated. You shouldn't missunderstand me, I don't mind people writing what they think, even if it is seemingly nasty. I'm not so superficial that I expect everyong to be nice, all the time.
