The other day, I watched my first Torchwood episode. Pretty good. And I've been watching Doctor Who now for about three weeks. I ♥ David Tennant. He is amazing! I only hate waiting till Saturday before being able to watch him =( Oh well. At least it makes the week go by quicker having Torchwood on Tuesdays, right before Supernatural.

Is your mom Mexican?
Don't be shy when speaking Spanish, that's the only way you'll ever become fluent :)

I never read the subtitles because yeah, the translation really sucks sometimes. That is why I absolutely haaaaaate dubbed movies!!!

Yeah, my mum is Mexican. I grew up speaking Spanish, but only with her (and during the summer vacations I'd spend with my grandma in Mexico City) my vocab was very limited. It wasn't till I arrived here that I really began to learn more. I'm trying not to be so shy about speaking =)

Can you find a friend who is in the same situation only in reverse? One who will help you with your Spanish and you help her with her English? You can spend part of your time together talking in English and part talking in Spanish. It's an idea! :->

One of my close friends is currently studing English. We've talked about doing what you suggested, but she's also a bit shy about speaking and making a mistake. I guess we both have to let go of our fears in order to learn more.

Don't approach it initially as a mutual thing, but rather beg her to do it to help you with your Spanish. Then as things progress you can slip in and out of English and eventually help her. Hasta mañana and hola are the only two phrases I know!
