Author's note: This is my first time posting to this community...heh. And, this fic-ish thing is kind of dark, don't expect much happiness in this...
He’d left her.
Alone.
In the dark.
He said he’d never leave. He promised. But here she was, alone.
It didn’t seem right, she shouldn’t be driving his beloved car, it still smelled like him, and she knew she never wanted to go away.
Most nights she lay awake in bed crying. Crying because he shouldn’t have died that night. They could’ve done something, but by the time they’d noticed he was hurt, it was too late.
A few days after his funeral, his brother had left. Said he was going to go back to school, just like he would’ve wanted. But, he told her to take the car. She’d almost refused, but understood why.
She saw him everywhere now. Walking down the sidewalk, or driving in the country. She always caught a glimpse of him, watching her. But then he’d be gone. Sometimes she’d feel something brush by her. She’d always brush it off, but then there were those times where she wondered.
Now she was walking back to the jet black beauty with him on her mind again. She’d been crying again, and she knew she shouldn’t have been.
Turning on the car, she wiped away the tears.
“Man, I’m glad you’ve been taking care of my car.”
She jumped at the voice and looked over at the passenger seat slowly.
“Oh my god.” She started crying again. There he was, looking like he did when she last saw him…alive.
“Well, that wasn’t exactly the response I was looking for…”
She wiped away the tears again, “God, I never thought-”
He looked down sadly at himself, “I never meant to leave you Chloe…”
“I know Dean, I know.” She whispered, voice shaking.
“I love you so much.” He whispered back, wishing he could touch her.
“I’ve missed you, so much, you just don’t know what it’s been like without you.”
“I know…I’ve been watching.” Dean whispered, shifting.
Chloe’s expression went from broken to shocked, “So it really was you I’ve been seeing.”
He nodded, “Yeah, I tried to come earlier but…” He sighed sadly.
“I understand.” She whispered, “I guess.”
“It’s almost time for me to go.” Dean said quietly.
Chloe shook her head, “No…Dean, please, don’t leave me again.”
“I’ll never leave for good.” He whispered. Reaching out, he put his hand to her heart, “I’ll always be here. Whenever you need me, think of me here.”
She sniffed and nodded, “I’m gonna miss you Dean. So much.”
“I’ll miss you too Chloe.” His image began to fade, “Never forget.” He whispered.
“I won’t.” She choked out, “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Then he was gone.
Pushing back the tears, Chloe began driving. She didn’t know where’d she was going, and she didn’t know where she’d end up. All she knew was that she was going to drive into that sunset, knowing Dean was there.
