The week after I attended the funeral of Evan's grandmother, and a week before I was a pall bearer at the funeral of my uncle, Evan and I decided in a surprisingly amicable way that neither of us was happy or content with the way our relationship has evolved over the last year or so. From my own extensive experience with change of this sort, I would definitely recommend the "nudge" approach. Machetes and blow torches? Not so good.

"Courage!" or something equally comforting.

Slash and burn, while its fun in the offing tends to leave you without eyebrows and strange holes in your clothing.

Yeah, I realized the trend when I wound up three hours from home with a car full of people I had met the night before searching for "this really cool hauted farm house" that one of them had "went to one time". Since that I'm a bit more careful of labeling things the "A" word, remembering that adventures are only fun afterward. When they're in the offing it generally leads to being hungry, wet and a bit frightened.
