lolarious comments on Westeros re ADWD

Jul 17, 2011 20:37

Yet another example of the balanced and insightful analysis of Jon Snow's leadership abilities and character provided by the Westeros boards. This one is my favourite so far.

slight implied spoiler, no actual detail from Dance )

I just answered to this one: Reek didn't suffer half as much as he should have.

An it just made me so terribly sad. I get that you may not "forgive him" because that's a choice. But saying he deserved it? I can't with the sad feeling that comment put over me.

And that's where it hit me: I'm a freakin carebear. I need to toughen up somehow ^^'.

Lol I saw that Sansa quote. Shaking my head in embarrassment for the person.

I've actually gotten used to Theon hate, so that doesn't surprise me. What has surpised me has been the amount of people who suddenly do like Theon. I kind of want to tell random people to stop being on my side so I can continue being contrary about him, especially if it's the people at westeros >.>

I'll probably always have some huge mixed feelings about him. All in all is a tragic character (like his all family tbh) and that's what makes him so compelling.

Lol that macro XD *thumbs up*. Theon, trolling hardcore, even on your feelings!

Yeah, he has always been very tragic. Caught up in things the way he was, and so needy and desperate for approval and fairly immature, to me he's always seemed stupid, young, and kind of backed into a corner by his own actions as a result of his neediness/background. He didn't handle things well, but I always thought it was sad. I also think his chapters have been some of Martin's best writing through the series.

Yeah, Jon is just like Jesus in a way. (I saw some comments like that re: Eddard when the fans raged against HBO for killing "the main character". Damn the Lannisters, they killed Jesus Stark!)

*dies of laughter*. I'll always call him Jesus Stark from now on ^^.

Lol there was a poster yesterday who got all butthurt when people were talking about how Mance was a better fighter than Jon and went off trying to justify it. He was like "he barely beat him and mance is in the prime of his life and took Jon unaware and and and"
