[Oh... well actually, Link was kind of assuming that people would just leap out of the hedges at him and start answering his questions once he wrote something in the book, so he's a bit blindsided by this information. Doest his mean he's actually talking to someone, like writing a letter only instant? That is both awesome and terrifying.]

Well, Zelda hasn't been in Luceti for a long time. She must have been sent home. Your other friend isn't here, either, at least not yet. The new cycle could always bring them in, though.
