Good luck with house-hunting and hope you will like your new city/home :) Living by yourself is totally different experience, but nice, I can assure you *^ ^* I got IKEA stuff myself, I think its quite good XD And I lkie the designs. [And their toys ;p]
I loved your photos of your place~! =D I can't wait to be doing that myself~~!
Oh! I didn't mean to say IKEA was bad! I LOVE IKEA! XD Just pointing out that we were on a budget and so IKEA was the only place we could turn to! XD I love the designs also~ I love going to walk around and just look at all the beautiful things! Although it's cheap, I can see myself buying more than I need of cute cushions, rugs, pictures frames and candles~! XD
There's quite a few fabric shops around Portsmouth. If you say you're in the roleplay society you'll get a discount in one of them ;) There's a lot of Chinese supermarkets (we have a large amount of Chinese students) and there's usually a big carboot held on the front each Sunday. If you need any directions, just ask :)
I can't wait to be moving down there now! I was upset about Camberwell, of course, and I was thinking to myself 'portsmouth is no london' and I still do, but portsmouth is still a city all of it's own; another new place to explore and photograph! So I'm looking at it now in a more positive light whcih I should have done right from the start!
I can't wait for the first time to invite you round for afternoon tea~!
Tell me, do you know of any derelict and remote buildings within the city?
I had my doubts about Portsmouth too, since it's the firs time I'd lived in a city (me being the country bumpkin I am :p), but it does grow on you after a while. Since the island is only about 6 miles across, everything is in walking distance, which is certainly lovely!
You can feel free to pop round mine anytime. And I'm looking forward to introducing you both to the anime society too :D
Since Portsmouth can't expand there's not too many derelict buildings around (they end to get torn down to make way for useful buildings), although there's quite a few boarded up. Near Gunwharf there's a large office building- must be over 10 floors- that's abandoned. That's quite a spooky place. As for remote, there's the marine lab. It's right on the very eastern tip towards Hayling and it's in the middle of nowhere. To get to my lessons there I had to hike over beaches and mudflats =/
