[He snapped out of his droning a few hours ago.
-and then hadn't said a word about it, quietly checking a calendar- (Missed my own fuckin' birthday? Tch)- and ensuring that Taiwan continued to sleep safely in their bed. He'd silently checked on Saki and Mindy, as well, pausing only briefly at their doorways before gently picking up Chocomeltje

And then pause and just stare. He has a few of Lucas's drawings, and there's no mistaking the artist of these. All at once the guilt twists him again. It's the same guilt he feels over his droning when it comes to Belgium and Taiwan. The guilt of disappointing and abandoning family.
Lucas may be his adopted citizen and very likely his best friend here, but he's family, too, and the man knows it isn't fair not to talk to him. Netherlands wonders just how he can be so very old and yet so emotionally walled in this way; how he can have experienced so much (war, occupation, the birth and death of his empire) and yet still have trouble with this simplest of things. Yet it's a wondering that's been pondered and abandoned; there is no use in questioning himself when it takes so, so long for a nation to change.
Still, though. He finds himself at Lucas's door, and knocks.]

When Prussia taps him with the blade, he looks up, falters, isn't sure what to say, but-- his tone is a little weird. Netherlands doesn't blame the guy. He'd done something to get droned, and he'd be pissed at himself, too.
Still, he finds himself focusing on the weapon as he talks.]
...Didn't wanna be down there. [Well, it's the truth. Part of it.]

Either way, you'll hear a gun shot ring out somewhere lower down the mountain before Switzerland appears not too much later. Hell knows what he was taking a shot at.
Hello, you're looking decidedly not drone-ish today. We may be pleased about this, but whatever; scowl.]
