I'm actually a very honest person, Lu Han had once told Yixing, as he gathers up his mahjong winnings. It's just that other people find me hard to read.
Oh my god, just, this entire set-up - Yixing learning about Wu Fan through Lu Han, us looking at Lu Han through Yixing's eyes, all of the parallel conversations and even moreso all the words unsaid. TEARS. FORGET THE SEVEN DAYS SELUKAI AU; I need ALL THE LAYHAN, ALL OF IT.

Honestly I really wish I could recast the Seven Days AU because Luhan would really be the perfect boyfriend for seven weeks but then all the girls dump him because he's nothing like what they thought he'd be like. It's just problematic because NO ONE ELSE IN THE CHINA OT3 WOULD ASK HIM OUT ON A WHIM especially because I always think of Layhan as a BFF ship, even in AUs. ~FOREVER LAYHAN NEEDS THAT CAN'T BE FULFILLED~~~~~
do you think luhan would go with yixing if yixing asked him to run away with him TT_______TT more importantly will you write me all the fic in the world where they're holed up in a hotel room together eating sticky rice and writing wuxia novels TT___________TT

I feel like I have set up my ~TENDER LAYHAN~ feels to be too ~tender~ and ~delicate~ and now I can't get over an image of Yixing being the classic perfect starter boyfriend that everyone likes but no one settles down with. Also after this many months I.... still can't get a handle on Lu Han, sob. Maybe that's why all of my stories are the same: people staring at Lu Han and thinking about how mysterious he is and how they never know what the fuck he is thinking.

Your attention to detail is exquisite, and your writing is so visually powerful. I love how you described their cab ride, Yixing's memories, Lu Han's actions/facial expressions during their dinner. I love how you've written Yixing here, how unsure he is in his dealings with Lu Han, how much he seems to second-guess everyone and everything, and your Lu Han is perfect too, mysterious and kind of ... delicate without being fragile?

Why? WHY ARE YOU NOT WRITING MORE ON THIS AU? I THINK YOU CAPTURED THE ESSENCE WELL!!
You know, I rarely read fics that are not the ships that I am alright with (no offense) but seeing 2046 and in the mood for love au makes me want to read it...
and I'm glad I did. I love the ordering part. For me, it tells a lot about the relationship between our two leads, and the hidden guilt on Yixing's part. And the taxi scene, in which Luhan is almost reluctant to respond to Yixing's advances, making him rather ambiguous about this hidden affair.

I think it's difficult for me to write in this AU because there's really nothing more I could add to the story! I don't really like writing specific AUs where nothing changes, i.e. the ending would progress much as the movie does (they start writing wuxia novels! they spend time in a hotel room! yixing asks lu han to run away with him! lu han doesn't! yixing goes to angkor wat!). especially not when the source material already is so wonderful!
