Snow is evil, part 2
Perhaps this entry may be better titled "I hate winter", but I'm not sure. The 6-8" of frozen white stuff never materialized this weekend. Instead we got a nice glaze of freezing rain plus howling winds out of the east (winds from this direction are very unusual.) Yes, snow is evil. It's out there...just waiting for the right moment to strike. Like today.
darph_bobo was out plowing the driveway this morning after we got a lovely dumping of about 6" of the frozen white stuff. I'm in the house waiting in case I'm needed to do something when darph_bobo comes in and says "Guess what?" I groaned inwardly and said "You're stuck ( Read more... ) -
Into the sunset
It's that time of year again, *sigh* Time to put the bike away for the winter. I took advantage of some moderately nice temperatures today to ride Bluebird to my doctor's appointment. The air was clear; the sky beautiful. Most of the leaves have fallen, but there were still spots of color on the trees along my way. I know it'll sound kind of silly ( Read more... ) -

Yep, Linux downloads still going and going and going :P darph_bobo managed to get yum to provide the list of updates in a form so that we could use a high-speed connection to get them, but now yum is insisting on downloading the latest and greatest patch manifest. Of course, it's borked. It'll download the file (eventually) but then complain that the ( Read more... ) -

Whee! At this moment, I am posting from my Fedora 7 Linux install :) I'm seriously new at this, but I did manage to figure out some things. I did figure out how to get my machine to dual boot Linux and XP (different hard drives). darph_bobo had most of what I needed, but apparently XP needed a few more lines in Grub. Back from vacation and back to work
Well, we got back from Toronto on Sunday. I slept most of the way back. I picked up a cold while in Toronto and hadn't slept well Saturday night. Overall, it was a great trip, though!
